Steve
Paoli - Guitar, Bass,
Technique and
lead guitar specialist
After
taking up guitar
in 2000 as an
excuse to escape
high school
history classes
(Editors note:
stay in school
kids!), Steve
found he could
not put it
down. Obsessed
with the hair
bands of the 80s
like Poison,
Whitesnake, Van
Halen, Kiss
& Motley
Crue and guitar
heroes such as
Joe Satriani,
Steve Vai, Zakk
Wylde, Chris
Brooks &
Yngwie Malmsteen,
Steve then went
on to study
guitar.
Steve has an advanced
diploma in popular
music,
majoring in
guitar, a
Bachelor of
Entertainment
& Performance
and
is currently
studying for his
Masters in
music.
Steve is also in
the process of
recording an
album.

Adam Smyth - Guitar, Bass,
Jazz Gtr,
Fingerstyle/Classical
Guitar
Adam
began playing
guitar and bass
at age 13 and
included
classical guitar
in his
studies.
Since then, Adam
has played and
recorded with numerous
pop, rock, jazz,
funk and hip-hop
artists which
has seen him
gigging all over
NSW. Adam
completed his
Bachelor of
Music at the
Australia
Institute of
Music in 2007
and was inducted
into the Principal's
Honour Roll for
outstanding
achievement in
Music Theory and
Jazz
Improvisation.
His influences
include Led
Zeppelin, Kurt
Rosenwinkel,
John Schofield,
Tool, Mars
Volta, John
Coltrane, Cold
Chisel and Pat
Metheny.

Hayley
Summers -
Vocals, Piano
Hayley
Summers is a highly
accomplished
singer and
pianist who had
played piano
before she'd
even finished
learning the
alphabet and
hasn't stopped
since. At
age 11, Hayley
started her journey
as a singer, and
five years later
she joined ACE
performing arts
and toured the
country and
overseas,
performing in
major shows in
which she danced
and sang. She has also
been part of the
SBS choir.
Hayley's studies
include 8th
grade singing,
studies in
Piano, Theory
&
Musicianship, a
Diploma in
Contemporary
Music at Nirimba
college, and two
NIDA courses in musical
theatre and
acting. Hayley's career
highlights
include
performing at
Disneyland at
age 16, signing
a publishing
deal with
Warner/Chappell
at age 18, and
performing for
thousands aboard
P & O
cruises
throughout
Europe. Hayley is
currently in a
duo called the
"Cover
Ups" who
perform at
various venues
around
Sydney. She is also
working on an
album.

David
Mormul - Guitar,
Bass, Technique
and lead guitar
David
found a passion
for music at a
young age after
being inspired
by Michael Jackson,
Tommy Emmanuel
and John
Farnham.
This led him to acquiring
his first guitar
at age
six. After
years of
learning from
various
teachers, David
decided to
attend a Jazz
school to further
challenge
himself as a
musician.
He has now
graduated from
three courses -
performance/recording,
songwriting/music
literacy, and
Music
Business. David
has taught
professionally
for over five
years. Having
never limited
himself to one
style, David has
experimented
from the
beginning,
committed to his
original music
as well as Jazz
and Cover
bands.
Since leaving
high school
David has
committed most
of his days to studying
and playing
music and this
has revealed a
true ability as
a singer/songwriter
as well.
David doesn't
always look this
serious.

Deborah
Chen - Piano,

Musicianship
Deborah
started playing
the piano in
1991 and
completed her
AMEB 8th Grade
Classical Piano
and AMEB 5th
Grade Theory in
2003. Deborah
has also had
experience as a
piano
accompanist for
classical ballet
classes and has
accompanied HSC
vocal &
saxophone
students playing
music from
artists such as
Vanessa Carlton,
Missy Higgins
and Brooke
Fraser. Along
with classical
music Deborah
enjoys playing
jazz,
pop/alternative
music and
writing her own
pieces and also
enjoys music
from the John
Butler Trio,
Carus & the
True Believers
and Jack

Stephen
Eldridge -
Violin, Guitar,
Bass
Stephen
began his
musical life on
the violin at
the age of
three-and-a-half.
He was taught by
one of
Australia's best
teachers, Mr
Yusaki
Nakamura.
Stephen played
at the Sydney
Opera House and
other reputable
concert halls in
Sydney and
Melbourne as a
young
child. He
completed the
Suzuki method at
age 16. At
age 12 Stephen
picked up the
guitar and found
a new avenue for
his musical
pursuits when he
started the
reputable Sydney
heavy metal band
Headmess.
Stephen is
currently involved
in a few
projects but has
focused his
attention
towards a new
style of
rock/metal.

Chris
Buchli - Bass,
Guitar
Chris
picked up his
first bass over
10 years ago,
inspired at the
time by classic
rock like Led
Zeppelin and the
contemporary
bands of the
time such as
Nirvana and
Silverchair.
An accomplished
live musician
who has played
in venues all
over Sydney
including the
Opera House and
The Gaelic Club,
Chris also plays
guitars and
sings.
Currently he is
the frontman for
Sydney rock band
Gravital.
Chris'
influences
include Jeff
Buckley, Katie
and Tyrone
Noonan, Matt
Bellamy and
Chris
Wolstenholme of
Muse and Victor

Luisa
Moran - Piano,
Violin
Luisa
has been playing
the piano for
over 12 years
after beginning
at age
eight. She
has performed in
competitions and
at age 17 won a
Sonata
competition for
her rendition of
Hayden's Sonata
in E
minor. In
1998 Luisa took
up the violin
and was
recruited to
play 2nd violin
in the Metro
Manila
Orchestra.
Besides
classical piano,
Luisa has also
taken an
interest in the
music of
Gershwin, Paul
Desmond, and
Dave Brubeck. |

Pederson -

Tim

pursuing Jazz
Fusion with a
heavy
twist.

Powell aka
G-Rhythm
- Drums
Glynn
has played drums
for over 14
years in which
time he has
pursued
performance-based
aspirations in
various bands,
and completed
some AMEB exams
in drums and
music
theory. He
tours the
national scene
with his band
Jack Napier Band
and
supported acts
like Parkway
Drive, I killed
the Prom queen,
Helmet, All
Shall Perish and
From Autumn to
Ashes.
Glynn also
worked with
Verona and is
influenced by
many styles and
genres.

Julianne
Chidiac -
Clarinet,
Beginner Piano
Julianne
developed a
passion for
music at a young
age, and started
playing the
Clarinet at age
10 - she hasn't
stopped playing
since. Inspired
by music greats
such as Adrian
Cunningham, Chet
Baker, Ella
Fitzgerald and
Frank Sinatra,
Julianne quickly
developed an
infatuation with
Jazz and Big
Band music - a
passion which
she hopes to
share with the
musically
misguided...joking
:) Having
undergone
practical
examinations
through AMEB,
Julianne has
recently been
accepted into
the
Conservatorium
of Music, where
she hopes to
further her
desire to
inspire young
musicians in her
chosen field of
Music Education.
Julianne is
currently at an
8th Grade
standard in the
subject of
Clarinet, and
during her time
at high school
taught herself
the piano, where
she discovered a
love for
composing. Up
until early
2007, Julianne
was also an avid
member of the
Hills Music
Academy, with
whom she travelled
to
State and
National Band
Championships. |

Michael
Elsley - Drums
& Percussion
Inspired
by his uncle who
is a jazz
drumming legend,
Michael started
playing drums at
age 10.
Since then he
has studied many
varieties and
styles and become
proficient with
many types of
hand percussion;
African, Middle
Eastern, South
American, all of
which have been
highlighted on
stage and in the
studio.
Combining his
percussive
skills with contemporary
kit drumming
with rudimental
military, Mick
is fluent in
styles such as
rock, pop,
metal, blues,
swing, jazz and
crazy world
grooves. Mick
also specialises
in odd time
signatures and
off-beat
rhythms,
steering away
from four on the
floor grooves
(not that
there's anything
wrong with
that!).
His
influences are
varied and are
lead by melodic
precision and
creativity -
Buddy Rich, Gene
Krupa, Elvin
Jones, Dave
Weckl, David
Jones, Nearl
Peart and many
more. From
the stage to the
open road to the
studio, Mick has
extensive experience
playing
alongside some
of Australia's
great musical talents,
including a
recent performance
at the
"Rock for
Rights"
festival at the
SCG, where
Mick's band
Urban Guerrillas
graced the stage
with Screaming
Jets, Hoodoo
Gurus, Magic
Dirt, Deni Hines
and more.

Nicholas
(Nick) Goon - Guitar,
Rock &
Contemporary,
Def Leppard
specialist
Nick picked up
the guitar in
the mid 90s and
was inspired by
pop,
instrumental,
metal and
classic rock
artists.
Spending more
time on his
guitar than his
HSC (once again,
stay in school
kids - Ed), it
was with the
purchase of Def
Leppard's greatest
hits CD (buy
albums kids,
anything else is
theft - Ed) that
kick started a
fascination with
heavy rock, glam
and "hair
metal".
Nick has studied
his craft and
completed an
Advanced Diploma
in music from
Nirimba Tafe,
Quakers Hill.

Secrett - Flute,
Beginner Piano
A
gifted flautist,
Jane has now
been playing
flute for over
12 years.
She also started
playing piano at
age 12 and over
the years has
played in
numerous bands
and
ensembles.
Jane is

bachelor degree

arts at Sydney

Matt
Jones - Acoustic
& Electric
Guitar, Bass
Matt
commenced his
guitaring
journey at the
age of 8, in
1998, idolising
international
and domestic
guitarists such
as Jimmy Page,
Hendrix, Ian
Moss, S.R.V. and
Tommy Emanuel.
After completing
the HSC in 2007,
Matt will
commence his
studies of the
bachelor of
music at the
university of
western Sydney
in March this
year. Playing in
a Hendrix/ Led
Zeppelin cover
band throughout
high school, and
currently with
his acoustic
duo, Matt has
played at
various Sydney
venues and
prominent bars.
In 2006, Matt
supported the
Bondi Cigars and
Jimmy Barnes
with his vocal/
acoustic duo. Of
late Matt has
just returned
from a brief
tour of the NSW
far north coast,
playing 8 gigs
with his
acoustic duo,
Phoebe and Matt.

Suseno - Guitar,
contemporary
A
student of
guitar master
Chris Brooks, Lawrence
began playing
guitar in 2000,
influenced by
bands like Rage Against
the Machine
initially, then
various metal
bands, and even
a little George
Benson! He
later studied
for a Bachelor
of Music at UWS
and now studies
music production
at North Sydney
Tafe.
Lawrence's favourite
gig to play (so
far) was the
Granny Smith
Festival where
he played with a
6-piece jazz

Scully - Acoustic

Guitar, Bass
Jarryd's
guitar journey began
when he was 13
years of
age.
Jarryd completed
extension music
in his HSC and
is currently in
his 3rd year of
a Bachelor of

University of

has a passion
for music
ministry in his
church and also
does a lot of
home recording,

Jo
began playing
piano as a
bright young 5
year old,
progressing
through the AMEB
piano
examinations and
specialising ion

piano. Jo
majored in
performance and
composition for
her HSC in
2005.
During her studies,
Jo was exposed
to the sounds of
musical theatre
and jazz, which
led to her
interest in
singing.
In 1999, Jo began
vocal training
where she progressed
through
contemporary and
singing for leisure
exams. She
has appeared on
stage in lead
roles in various
musicals
including Sound
Of Music, Les
Miserables,
Annie and

Cherlin - voice,
French horn,

Sarah
began her music
studies on trumpet
in 1997 and
quickly
developed an
interest in

instruments
including French
horn, piano,

- voice.
Her interest in
music extends to
musical theatre
and in 2004 she
starred in the
title role an a
school
production of
Annie. She
has since
performed in
productions of
Fiddler on the
roof, Westside
story and Les
Miserables.
Sarah currently
