At Maxx Music we know that choosing a music teacher can be difficult - finding someone with the right skills and qualifications, in a convenient location, at a time that suits you and who you know has been cleared to work with children – the list is endless!
Let us take all those worries away. Maxx Music provides high quality music tuition for Hills District families, with schools of music in Castle Hill and Rouse Hill Town Centre. We have been teaching music for more than 20 years and have a fabulous team of talented, committed music teachers who work across both schools of music. Our experience of teaching children, young people and adults to play an instrument or to sing is second to none. Add to that our convenient opening hours and flexible payment options, and we know you’ll have a great experience learning with us.

At Maxx Music, we take the safety of children in our care very seriously. Maxx Music is a Child Safe Organisation. This means that, as well as our teachers all having valid Working With Children Checks, we have clear and robust Child Safety Policy and Guidelines.
Why do we do it?
At Maxx Music, we believe that music is an essential part of life and that learning an instrument or singing can be beneficial for everyone! Did you know that, for children, as well as boosting their learning abilities and concentration levels, it improves coordination, teaches discipline, nurtures creativity and can improve self-esteem and confidence? Adults benefit too with music making and singing being a great stress buster, mood lifter, memory booster as well as a great way to meet new people.
What do we offer?
We offer individual private music lessons in piano, guitar, drums, bass, violin, vocals, brass and woodwind instruments during school term time. As the lessons are on a one to one basis, our tutors are able to make the lessons fun, age appropriate and can ensure that your child progresses at a speed which works for them. Lessons are 30 minutes, incorporating learning to read music in a simple and fun way, whilst also developing good playing technique from the beginning. For more advanced students we can work with them to study for AMEB and Rock School exams.

What age do you need to be to take lessons?
Our private 1-1 lessons are suitable for school aged children (i.e. 5yrs) and up.
Do you teach adults as well?
Yes! It is never too late to learn to play an instrument or to take singing lessons. Our teachers will ensure their lessons are appropriate for you and what you want to achieve. We’ll have you play in no time!
You say you have flexible payment terms. What does that mean?
Whilst you are welcome to pay for a full term of lessons, you are not obliged to. You can pay for a full term, a half term or a minimum of 3 weeks lessons in advance. These can be paid for in cash in person, by credit or debit card in person or over the phone, by Direct Debit or Direct Deposit (EFT Transfer)
What happens if I can’t make a lesson?
As long as you are up to date with payments, and you let us know before your lesson is due to start, we can offer you a make-up lesson. All students are entitled to a maximum of three make-up lessons per term. All make-up lessons are subject to availability. See our Make-Up Policy for full details.
Do students get the opportunity to perform?
Yes. At Maxx Music we know that performing is a really important element of learning to play an instrument or sing. We have a small workshop/performance space called The Session Space at Rouse Hill which we use for small recitals for younger or less experienced students. We also have a showcase performance once a year where more experienced students or students who have progressed exceptionally are provided with the opportunity to perform in a larger, external venue. In addition, we are often invited to perform at events and festivals which can be another great way for more experienced students to showcase their music making.
Do you offer group lessons?
No. We don’t offer group instrumental lessons. We find that people learn more quickly and consistently in a focused 1-1 environment. However, we do have several group activities which can be a great way to develop your skills beyond your 1-1 lessons, this includes ukulele groups, our Musical Theatre Group, and our new Band Program. We also offer a specific program of activities for people over the age of 55yrs. (each of these would have links to appropriate page).
I have a Creative Kids Voucher, how can I redeem it?
No problem! As a registered Creative Kids provider you can use your voucher towards the costs of 1-1 lessons, our one-day holiday workshops and our weekly groups and classes. Just print off the voucher and bring it in with you. We’ll also need your child’s birthday so that we can redeem your voucher.
